TAYke Off! 2023-2024

TAYke Off!

Fasten your seatbelts! Our TAYke Off Program is coming back!

What: TAYke Off! is a weekly program that will focus on education, recreation and application. We will cook a meal together, have a life skills workshop, and have some fun with recreational and team-building activities. During our time together – we will also apply many of our new skills as we plan our final dance party. TAYke Off! participants will plan and host a dance the Friday after each 10-week program ends.

  • Life Skills Topics may include: Bullying, Internet Safety, Relationships, Reciprocal Communication, Entrepreneurship & Event Planning, Financial Literacy, etc.
  • Recreational/ Team Building Activities may include: Dance, karaoke, board games, creative activities, Drum Fit, Jeopardy
  • Meals: we will cook a meal together each week and welcome different volunteers to teach us how to cook unique meals each week.

Who: A Transitional Aged Youth program (TAY stands for in TAYke Off!). Ages 18-35. Families/caregivers can plan to drop off and pick up but do not need to stay for the program.

When: We will run four 10-week programs. Participants may only sign up for one program. Each TAYke Off! session will have a maximum of twelve participants. Campers will be supported at a 4:1 ratio. This means there will be one staff supporting four participants.

  • Session One: Tuesday Nights; Sept 5th – Nov 7th; 4:30-8:30pm (DANCE: Nov 10th)
  • Session Two: Tuesday Nights; Nov 14th – Jan 23rd; 4:30 – 8:30pm (Holiday Break/No Program: Dec 26th) (DANCE: Jan 26)
  • Session Three: Monday Nights; Jan 29th – April 1st; 4:30 – 8:30pm (no program on Family Day, Monday, February 19th) (DANCE: April 5th)
  • Session Four: Monday Nights; April 8th – June 24th; 4:30-8:30pm (May Long Weekend/No Program: May 20th or April 29th) (DANCE: June 27th)

Dances: Each session will plan and run a dance. This will help reinforce many life skills (customer service, money management, etc.). All 12 participants will help run and plan this dance, but everyone is invited (whether currently enrolled in TAYke Off! or not.) If you are not a part of the current TAYke Off! session, you will still be invited to the dance to celebrate with us! Please mark the dates of the dances in your calendar – and spread the word. It’s going to be so much fun! All are welcome at the dances! More details will be shared about this as they get closer and our creative event planning team (akaTAYke Off! participants) start the dance planning process.
