Creating a world where everyone belongs

Across Canada and around the world, L’Arche creates communities of friendship and belonging. In L’Arche, people with and without intellectual disabilities live, work, learn, and grow together. L’Arche demonstrates that when persons with intellectual disabilities take their place at the table, they contribute to a more just, compassionate, and vibrant world for all.

A BIG Thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation
We're deeply grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their invaluable support in making our roles of Communication and Partner Relations Specialist and Volunteer Coordinator possible, enabling us to further our mission and create positive change in our community.

Do you want to financially help L'Arche London? All donations are tax deductible and help provide critical services to those with developmental disabilities in our community.

Our Story

In 1991, a small group of people with an interest in L’Arche gathered to pray and lay the ground work for L’Arche London. We now have three homes in London and a Gathering Place.

In the three homes, people with intellectual disabilities and their assistants share daily life together and participate in the London community with the support of a wide network of friends and community members.

Our Gathering Place opened in 2017. Here, L’Arche London offers day programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Some of the activities include arts and crafts, music programs, drama, dance, and life skill development. These programs embrace individuals with intellectual disabilities, creating a more inclusive community where barriers are removed allowing them to celebrate their gifts, and where diversity is valued. Weekly, we support more than 200 people through our programs.
