HR Manager, 3M Company
Katie is an experienced Human Resources Leader. Currently, she is employed with 3M Company as the HR Manager supporting the Consumer Business Group Operations globally. Katie has worked in the local London community for the last 16 years with a variety of employers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Western University and Certificate in HR Management from Fanshawe College. Katie joined the L’Arche London board in 2018 and has been our Board Chair since June 2021.

- Hubert Van Niekerk

Retired Teacher – Developmental Sector
Hubert has a long history of working and volunteering in the disabled community. He has been involved with the Ontario Association for Developmental Education for 19 years serving as a member-at-large, president and past president. Hubert served as the president for the Council for Exceptional Children for London-Middlesex. He is the current Vice-chair for Every Canadian Counts which is advocating for a publicly funded national disability insurance plan for all persons with long term and chronic disabilities.
Before retirement, Hubert worked in the construction industry for 27 years. He then went to university and became a teacher for 17 years. As a high school teacher, he worked in a mostly self-contained classroom setting teaching students with a wide range of intellectual, medically fragile and physical disabilities. Hubert also engaged in a year-long teacher work exchange to Australia for the year of 2010.
Life shouldn’t be a spectator sport, get in the game.

John has been involved with people in the vulnerable sector for over 40 years. Currently, John works in private practice providing therapy to all ages of individuals experiencing single-incident and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms and other life challenges. John has a 2-year diploma in Developmental Service Work from Fanshawe College, an undergraduate degree in English and Psychology from Western University, a Master of Science in Education Degree and a Master of Social Work Degree. John joined the L’Arche board in October of 2021.

Sara is the Director of the Global Great Books Program and a Professor in Political Science at Huron University.
