Independence Summer Camp

Summer Camp Programs

Reinforcing: Reinforcing life skills learned in high school, last year at camp and TAYke Off! This program will offer a buffet of independent living skills. Each program will cover life skills such as internet safety, laundry, cooking, baking, communication, employment skills, and financial literacy. This program is meant for anyone interested in learning and practicing life skills.

Teamwork: This recreational camp provides an environment for campers to enhance their teamwork skills through engaging games and activities. This camp is designed for people who are more interested in recreation, rather than the educational component of our other camp sessions.

Leadership: This camp is based on the very important life skill of leadership. It will have less of a focus on practical life skills but will focus on concepts like; problem solving, communication, initiative, goal setting, and identity. Campers in this session already have a strong grasp on many life skills and are ready for the next step.

Camp Dates & Times
The camp day is 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Session 1: Reinforcing  – June 29 – July 10 (No Camp July 1st)

Session 2: Reinforcing – July 13 – 24

Session 3: Teamwork  – July 27 – August 7 (No Camp Aug 3rd)

Session 4: Leadership – August 10 – 21

At this time, campers may only register for one session. If spaces still remain after everyone has gotten their first choice, I will send an email out again and at that time, campers will be able to register for a second session on a first-come, first-served basis. Camp is designed for people aged 18-35.

A note on extended day:  Camp programming will end at 3:00 pm. If needed, campers can stay until 4:00 pm for an additional charge of $10/day. You can add this payment to your camp registration or pay during/after your camp session for the days you stay until 4 pm.

Introducing Flexible Pricing  – Please read!

This year, L’Arche London Independence Summer Camp is offering flexible pricing with 3 choices for our sessions. Every family can choose the level of payment that is right for their situation. The level you choose is voluntary and will in no way influence the experience your camper will have at camp, yet it offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their camper’s experience.  Only office staff will be aware of the rate choice for billing purposes.

  • Option A is the traditionally subsidized rate
  • Option B is the rate that is more representative of the true cost of camp
  • Option C is an opportunity to pay it forward to support another camper

Why Flexible Pricing?
At L’Arche London, we believe that everyone deserves an amazing summer at campCamp is an incredible program, but it is costly to facilitate because of our low camper-to-staff ratio and unique activities. For the past four years, we’ve been subsidizing the program to make it accessible to everyone. We are now introducing flexible pricing to be transparent about the true cost of camp, so we can continue offering subsidized rates for those who need them.

Session Prices
Session 1 & 3 Pricing Options (9-Day Programs)
Option 1: $607.50
– Subsidized rate
Option 2: $732.50 – True cost of camp
Option 3: $825  – Pay it forward to support another camper

Session 2 & 4 Pricing Options (10-Day Programs)
Option 1: $675
– Subsidized rate
Option 2: $800 – True cost of camp
Option 3: $850 – Pay it forward to support another camper

Additional Subsides

We recognize that Option A is still difficult for some families to cover, so additional subsidies will continue to be available.  Please contact our Program Coordinator, Mel Quevillon at mel@larchelondon.org if you would like to apply for an additional subsidy.

How to pay?
Just like previous years, you can e-transfer your camp payment to office@larchelondon.org. You can also drop off cash or a cheque at our office – 4448 Colonel Talbot Rd.

  • Pick the price that is most suitable for you and your family
  • Submit Payment (e-transfer, cash, cheque)
  • Receive Receipt via email

Thank you for supporting camp in whatever way is comfortable for your family. Your support will help us keep camp going for many years and ensure that everyone who wants to attend camp has the opportunity to do so.
